Abellio London's Mariusz Przybylski has received the 2021 Joe Wood Scheduler of the Year Award.
Mariusz received his award during a live event in Galway which also included a panel discussion on the evolving role of the bus scheduler and a tribute to our friend and colleague Joe Wood – one of the brightest rising stars of the UK bus industry – who sadly died in 2019. Joe's father, Gary presented Mariusz with his award.
The Joe Wood Scheduler of the Year Award was launched by CitySwift and Passenger Tansport magazine to raise awareness of the important work done by schedulers, and celebrate leaders in the field.
We received nominations from bus companies large and small, from across the UK and beyond. The judges, which included 2020 Scheduler of the Year Richard Sherratt, 2021 CPT President Jane Cole, Go North East MD Martijn Gilbert and Passenger Transport's Andrew Garnett, reviewed all the entries and selected Mariusz as the winner.

Abellio London's Commercial Head Alastair Willis, who nominated Mariusz for the award, said "Mariusz undertakes his role with pride and determination to deliver the best results. His enthusiasm, commitment and dedication - especially with the relentless workload during the pandemic - demonstrate his true ability and professionalism, which is recognised across Abellio London."
Alastair continued: "Mariusz has established strong relationships with the Operations, Engineering and Performance teams, working closely with them to understand feedback and incorporate changes to schedules and responses to issues that may not otherwise have been possible."
